A team of specialists:
in close cooperation with attending orthopedists, sports physicians, physical therapists and sports scientists, OrthoTrain looks after competitive athletes and teams from a variety of disciplines.
Indication: competitive sports
The strain of competitive sports often gives rise to overloading issues as well as acute injuries. Competitive athletes require comprehensive sports-medical care in order to achieve outstanding performances without injury and to regain previous performance levels after injuries and operations.
Treatment after acute injuries
OrthoTrain treats injured athletes in need of intense sports-specific rehabilitation training after conservative treatments and surgeries. With the help of our team of specialized therapists and computer-aided testing and training systems, we provide athletes with ideal conditions for getting back to doing their sports quickly and in the best possible state of preparedness. We analyze neuromuscular deficits and develop sports-specific training plans in a targeted manner in order to eliminate deficits in the areas of strength, coordination, mobility and stability.
Return to competition – Functional Test Sport Ability
When can I participate in training again without risk, when can I play again? OrthoTrain offers the test procedures “Return to competition” and “Functional Test Sport Ability” for injured performance and amateur athletes in order to assess the training and competition resilience after overcoming injury and rehabilitation.
In both test procedures, various individual tests are carried out to test the neuromuscular performance of the injured compared to the uninjured side and to check functional movements. Any remaining deficits and limitations can be determined in this way. On the basis of the results, recommendations for the resumption of sporting activities can be made.
Not giving injuries a chance: preventive diagnostics and training
Apart from treating acute sports injuries, OrthoTrain establishes preventive performance profiles for teams and individual athletes with the aim of identifying weak spots and drawing up suitable training programs. Among other things, we analyze the strength of the upper and lower limbs and test muscle innervation, core strength, balance, coordination and running technique. On the basis of the results, we draw up personalized suggestions for cross-training.
When establishing an athlete’s performance level, we employ diagnostic and training systems such as isokinetics, EMG, Tergumed, video-assisted treadmill analysis and the FMS (Functional Movement Screen) system, which in the USA and other countries is used by fitness expert Mark Verstegen and numerous professional sports teams for early identification of injury indicators.
