Balance and coordination tests at OrthoTrain:
The MFT S3 test system measures balancing skill and bodily stability. The results provide doctors with important information relating to the necessity of medical and therapeutic measures both after injuries and operations and as a preventive diagnostic tool in the field of competitive sports.
MFT S3 coordination test
MFT S3 Check is a test system for diagnostics in the areas of balancing skill and body and joint stability. After lower-limb injuries and operations and in the context of functional problems and deficits related to walking and running, as well as in connection with other indications, the results of MFT S3 tests provide information on impaired balance and stability.
Computer-aided diagnostic measuring using MFT S3 makes it possible to evaluate postural control. The test subject stands on an unstable platform, and the S3 system measures the subject’s ability to balance his or her body’s center of gravity while standing on one or both legs. The results show not only how well the center of gravity is maintained but also how quickly balance is regained after being moved off center. MFT S3 measures the stabilization index, sensorimotor processes and symmetries both in front-to-back and left-to-right motion.
In addition to using the MFT S3 system for diagnostic purposes after injuries and operations and in the case of instability, we at OrthoTrain use it to establish competitive athletes’ stabilization skills and postural control in the context of preventive medicine. Studies show that good balance and postural stability are significant factors in injury prevention.
The results are compared with standard reference values derived from symptom-free subjects and competitive athletes. MFT S3 diagnostics can help identify deficits and limitations in the areas of balance and bodily stabilization, information that can be used in therapy and training programs to prevent injury.
